Fashion is not something that always needs to be new. Hollywood stars have proved that old outfits still make them beautiful, stunning and outstanding from the crowd. A lot of gowns appeared on the red carpet of the Academy Awards ceremonies in the past have been worn again in recent years. Let’s have a look at the photos below to see how similar today’s gowns are in comparison with them from the past.
Raquel Welch used to walk the red carpet at the 44th Academy Awards held in October 1972 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Los Angeles in a beautiful white gown. And the winner of the best actress trophy at the 2004 awards, Charlize Theron also selected this gown for her arrival.

German actress Luise Rainer received Best Actress award at the 1937 Oscar in a full-sleeved gown with a high neckline. In 2005, Hilary Swank also picked up the same award in the similar gown.
Cher, who is famous for her unique fashion style appeared in a long silver gown at the 1984 Oscars. Over 25 years later, Nicole Richie came to the 2010 Oscars with a gown which has the same shape.
Wearing her long and wavy hair, stylish actress Sarah Jessica Parker looked stunning in the Dior dress at the 2009 Academy Awards. Back to the year 1953, Jane Wyman showed off the gown’s original version at the 26th Annual Academy Awards Oscar.
Blonde bombshell Elke Sommer and Halle Berry showed off their attractive body with a cream one-shoulder gown at the Academy Awards ceremonies held in 1966 and 2005.
Grace Kelly (in 1995) and Gwyneth Paltrow (in 1999) appeared in a similar gown. The gown seemed to bring good luck to these stars when both of them won Best Actress.
Both the 1930s screen queen Marlene Dietrich (left) and German supermodel Heidi Klum opted for glamorous gowns with similarly dramatic details to walk the red carpet of the Academy Awards ceremonies.
It seems that both Diane Keaton and Angelina Jolie like to wear suits. While Keaton wore a white pantsuit at the 1976 ceremony, Jolie appeared at the 2001 awards in a more skin-baring Dolce & Gabbana version.
Both Cloris Leachman (in 1972) and Jennifer Aniston (in 2006) proved that a great black dress never went out of style.
