Homemade Skin Care Products Are Beauty Bargains

Winter can be hard on your skin but there are some inexpensive and fun ways to care for it using ingredients you probably already have.
We cover much of our bodies for protection against the winter wind, but Capital Style editor Kristy Eckert said our skin needs special protection, 10TV's Andrea Cambern reported on Monday.
"It's really important to get all the bad stuff off your skin and infuse it with lots of moisture," Eckert said.

That means a facial scrub two or three times a week, and moisturizer twice a day.  If you cannot afford pricy facial products you can make your own from items in your pantry.
"You don't have to be a gourmet chef to do it," Eckert said.
You can make a simple lip scrub with white sugar, a few drops of olive oil, and a touch of honey, which offers some anti-bacterial protection.
The ingredients for an effective facial scrub are probably in your pantry; brown sugar and olive oil.
"A quarter cup of brown sugar and an eighth of a cup of olive oil gives you more than enough," Eckert said.
