Former Miss USA Rima Fakih – the first Arab-American to win the pageant in May 2010, may be adding an unfortunate new title to her roster: defendant. The 26-year-old pretty girl is facing drunken driving charges following her arrest on early Saturday, November 3, 2011 in the Detroit enclave of Highland Park Mich, Michigan.
Rima Fakih was arrested as she was driving a black 2011 Jaguar with a half-empty bottle of wine. Fakih took a breathalyzer and blew more than twice the legal limit. The former Miss USA was released on the next day. Her lawyer Doraid Elder confirmed the arrest and said that “"she is very saddened and very apologetic for the situation that she is in right now." The beauty queen also tweeted and removed the tweet saying “Let's clear things up now. ... I'm NOT in Michigan and I'm NOT in jail! Wrong Fakih”
This Rima Fakih’s DUI arrest is not the first time she has faced scandal. Right after her reign as the Miss USA pageant, an earlier video of her participating in a "Stripper 101" pole dancing contest emerged.

Rima Fakih is not the only beauty queen to be arrested. Megan Burgess, Miss Arkansas Teen USA 2010, was earlier arrested at the University of Arkansas and charged with public intoxication in January 2011.

In 2009, Miss England Rachel Christie gave up her crown after being arrested on suspicion of assaulting Miss Manchester, Sara Beverley Jones after arguing over a man believed to be Sara’s ex-boyfriend at a nightclub in Manchester.

In 2007, Kumari Fulbright, Miss Pima County 2005 and Miss Desert Sun 2006 (Arizona) along with three other men were arrested and three years later she was sentenced to two years in prison for attacking her boyfriend for almost 10 hours.
