Miss Venezuela, Ivian Lunasol Sarcos Colmenares, defeated over one hundred other beauties from various parts of the world to be crowned the 2011 winner of the Miss World beauty pageant on Sunday, the 6th November 2011 at a glittering final ceremony held at Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London. Alexandria Mills of the United States, Miss World 2010, placed the prestigious crown on her successor’s head.
Appearing in a pink dress, the 22-year-old beauty from Venezuela gasped and threw her hands to her face as she was named Miss World 2011 winner. The first runner-up in the beauty contest was Miss Philippines, Gwendoline Gaelle Sandrine Ruais. Following her, Miss Puerto Rico, Amanda Perez, came third in the competition with the title the second runner-up.
More than one hundred beauty queen from all over the world took their place on the stage, where the event was broadcasted live to over one billion audiences in 150 countries. Contestants from countries such as South Korea, England, South Africa and Scotland were also placed in the top seven in this year’s contest.
The title of Miss Sports Champ belonged to Dominican Republic, Miss England was declared Miss Beach Beauty, Miss Talent title came to Miss Chile, while Kazakhstan was Miss World 2011 Top Model and Miss Indonesia and Miss Ghana shared the title of Beauty with a Purpose.
Before winning the title of Miss World 2011 winner, Miss Venezuela Ivian Sarcos, who currently works for a broadcasting company and has a degree in human, said that she believed the next Miss World should be “a woman of responsibility and reason”. Ivian Sarco also added that “I believe the woman should be committed to the organization and help people in need. Beauty with a heart.”
