Martinez and his partner Karina Smirnoff are the winners of “Dancing with the Stars” season 13, Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke were the runners-up and Ricki Lake and Derek Hough landed in the third place. After Monday’s final performance show, it seemed like Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke would triumph the Dancing with the Stars mirror ball trophy in the end with 57 points, the highest ones while J.R. Martinez and Ricki Lake followed in second place with 54 at the top of the leader board.
The 28-year-old veteran and actor beat out Rob Kardashian and Ricki Lake for the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy on Tuesday's finale after Dancing With The Stars results were announced. "First and foremost, I want to think everybody who voted for us for 10 weeks." Dancing with the Stars 2011 winner J.R. Martinez made a speech. "Thank you, America, for believing in us!" For J.R. Martinez's pro partner, Karina Smirnoff, the Mirror Ball Trophy was the first she'd won in her 10 seasons with the show. “I just want to take a moment and breathe, take it in,” the actor and former U.S. Army soldier told reporters after the two-hour finale. “The fact that we were able to top it off with this … we created a lot of magical moments together on this show that we’ll cherish for the rest of our lives. And my friend won her first mirror ball trophy! Everyone knows she is a beautiful dancer, but I’m able to vouch that she’s also a beautiful person. I’m glad I was able to see that and America was able to see that as well.”
J.R. Martinez’s girlfriend Diana Jones says she doesn’t see his scars: ‘I see a hot sexy guy … I see the man that I love. In fact, Diana Jones met him in 2008 when he starred as a Iraq war veteran on ABC’s hit soap opera, “All My Children and she was a executive assistant on staff at All my Children. “The minute I met him I didn’t see them, I think it was I saw them on the audition tape, and then when we met it was like, I didn’t see them.”
